Organizing Labs for Winter Semester 2009/10

This corresponds to all modules i am registered as a teaching assistant with IZ. We need to arrange IZSK working slots for preparing at least the first 2-3 weeks of Labs for each module.

The modules are:

  1. Διαδραστικά Συστήματα Ήχου (1H)
  2. Μουσική Πληροφορική (1H)
  3. Διάδραση και διεπαφές ανθρώπου μηχανής (2H)
  4. + ???

Organizing our Lab-tutorials by:

  • Writting up summary, notes, exercises for each module on E-Class.
  • Accompanying all tutorials with notes and bibliograpy.
  • Making a list of exercises and examples for students.
  • Collecting all musical pieces into an audio library.
  • Organizing our time for setting up equipment (speakers, laptops..etc) and for tiding up after each module finishes.

Time is running up, so an immediate start is required.

Backup plan for Earlab

We could organize our data backup every first week of each month. We need to create a main Earlab folder on which all data will be stored. Within the Earlab directory could create individual folders corresponding to each project. Here is an example :

Earlab Main Folder

  • Gestus, Yasmin, Classes etc…
    • Website development
      • PMwiki
      • Drupal
      • Ning
      • Tiddly Wiki
    • Documentation
      • Publications
        • Publication 1,2,3,4..etc
      • Bibliography
        • List of all bibliograpy
        • Endnote library files
    • Thesis
      • Introduction
      • Chapter 1,2,3,4..etc
      • Evaluation
      • Translated documentation
    • SC Work
      • Current work
      • Examples
      • Exercises
    • Multimedia
      • Picasa folder
      • Audio recordings
      • Sample Library
      • Video demos

LIST OF AVAILABLE STORAGE:

  1. On web
  2. On local hard drives
  3. On external hard drives
    1. Western Digital Studio Edition I  1T: Keep all backup copies of the main Earlab folder. Make dated .zip files for previous months copies and keep the current one extracted.
  4. On removable media (DVD)
    1. DVD’s 4.7Gb : Responsibly put detailed labels on CDs or DVDs and place the in separate boxes for each project.

(Need to add IZ storage and other available devices as well)

Categorized Task and Topics (Tree for Earlab)

EARLAB Home (Link + Logo)

  • About
  • Projects
    • For each project we require a different Wiki. This is a sample topics/task list that could be identical for every individual project. For example:
    • About
    • Bibliography
    • Publications
    • Multimedia
    • Blog
    • To Do’s List
    • Contact
                • Classes
                  • One wiki should be enough for incorporating all classes/modules. Here is a sample topics list
                    • Module Synopsis (eg.TEC332)
                    • Online Timetable
                    • Notes
                    • Assignments (incl. exercise examples..etc..)
                    • Bibliography
                    • Contact
                • Blog
                • Contact
