Keeping a separate general log
Strato, this is on the verge of being too pedantic, but I believe in the end it creates conceptual clarity in your work that can be beneficial:
- Keep in the gestus-tumblelog only those entries that refer to progress in the dissertation project. Focus here on the content of the work achieved. For example: “Continued translation of dissertation proposal. Worked on chapter 2: Methodology. Note: Aspect xxxx of the methodology needs further clarification. Made a note in my tiddlywiki under [[xxxx - questions]]”.
- Use the daily log to record what you have done each day. This focuses more on the daily activities, but also highlights significant events. For example: “AM: Meeting with TT to organize tools and cables in the toolboxes and crates that we bought during the festival. PM: Worked on dissertation.”.
